Did Karl Marx predict this ecomomic meltdown ?

"Owners of capital will stimulate the working class to buy more and more of expensive goods, houses and technology, pushing them to take more and more expensive credits, until their debt becomes unbearable. The unpaid debt will lead to bankruptcy of banks, which will have to be nationalized, and the State will have to take the road which will eventually lead to communism" Karl Marx, Das Kapital

Did Karl Marx really write this on Das kapital ? I have not read it - and picked this quote up on one of our blog community's own blogs. Because if he did, the only prediction that has not come true YET is ".. the state will have to take the road that will eventually lead to communism".

US a communist country ? Seems highly unlikely, but certainly not impossible.

A government controlled market definitely is the first step to socialism But just as the US has learned that unfettered capitalism works only in theory, China learned (as did the USSR) that total uncorrupt communism is also just as theoretical.

To find the right balance, and to be constantly at vigil. That fine balancing act will be Obama's biggest test, for there are dangers on both sides of the fence.

Treating Poison Ivy in Kids

Q: What are the best treatments for poison ivy? My children seem to get it every year, and they break out in horrible rashes.

Wearing long pants and shirts or a barrier cream/ointment can also help to decrease the risk of getting poison ivy. When they return home, immediately remove your children's clothing so that any urushiol on their outerwear doesn't transfer to their skin. Washing exposed areas and hands (including under the fingernails) with water and soap has been shown to decrease the likelihood and severity of poison ivy infections. The smoke from the burning plant may cause irritation, too.

If a child develops poison ivy, there are several topical treatments calamine lotion, Burrow's solution, and oatmeal baths) and oral antihistamines (Benadryl and Claritin) that can relieve some of the itching and discomfort of the rash. If an area of the skin becomes very inflamed, using moderate- to high-dose topical steroids for a few days may improve the symptoms. If a patient has a large area of reaction, an oral steroid medication may be prescribed. If the poison ivy rash becomes red, warm, and filled with pus, it may be superinfected and require antibiotics. Poison ivy symptoms typically last one to three weeks and get better on their own, often without treatment. Again, it's always best to try to prevent the infection in the first place.
